Our school proudly celebrated Black Heritage Month. Advisories honored their heroes with elaborate posters and biographies. Ms. Watkins and her art students displayed work throughout the building. The student government, led by Ms. Fuller and Ms. Vinson, organized an incredible assembly filled with film, music, dance, poetry, spoken-word, step, pride and joy.
The experience was best summed up by the African proverb: “I am because we are. We are because I am.”
