Admission to the HCZ Promise Academy Charter Schools is either by our annual admission lottery for 3-year-olds or by placing your student’s name on our waiting list. The 2024 lottery will be held for children who were born in 2021 and resided within New York State.

What do I need to bring with me to apply to HCZ Promise Academy?
If your child was born in 2021, you will be eligible to participate in the 2024 lottery. Please call Niya Brown at 212-360-3230 for more details about the lottery application requirements or fill out an application online. If your child was born in 2020 or earlier, you will be eligible for the waitlist. Only basic information, such as your address and phone number, is needed to place your child’s name on the waitlist. More extensive information will only be required if you are called to enroll.  To fill out a waitlist application, please visit 1463 5th Avenue, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, or apply online.

Do I need to reapply every year for the wait list?
No, applications roll forward each year. Parents only need to update their application if their contact information changes or their child is not promoted to the next grade.

Are there admissions preferences?
